I am hauling a giant suitcase down the street. It dawns on me that it contains human meat. A dismembered body I need to dispose of.

Where did it come from? Who were they? Did I kill them? Did I do the dismembering? How do I get rid of the body? How am I going to get out of this?

A policeman notices my panic and asks to see inside the suitcase. I unzip it and realise that the contents are, in fact, 83.2 kg of Hida beef.1 I am supposed to deliver the meat to the village butcher.

The policeman says, ‘Get moving before the meat goes bad!’

  1. Hida beef is a certified brand of beef from Japanese cattle raised in Gifu Prefecture. Certification requires an approved producer, at least fourteen months of fattening, and a meat-quality grade of 3, 4, or 5.
